Handmade Paper in 3-D
6 weeks, Thursdays from 10:00am - 11:30am, beginning April 26
Tuition:
* Sliding scale $60-90,
* plus $10 for materials
Think of all the glorious things you can make by casting paper: bowls, containers, masks, bugs, toys, jewelry! We'll whirl up everything from austere white to sumptuous colors of paper pulp in the blender, and learn to pour, pat, squirt, and squish it in lots of fun ways into and onto a zillion things. We'll add leaves, flowers, sparkly stuff. Each student will also get a small deckle and mold and some couching sheets for making flat paper -- these will be yours to keep after the class ends! The ABC's of Public Speaking

6 weeks, Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00, starting April 18
Tuition:
* Sliding scale - $60-$90

Are you nervous when speaking in public? Do you want to strengthen your powers of persuasion? Learn to overcome your fears and engage an audience, clarify your thoughts and focus your speaking. Working with specific speaking exercises, all participants will speak at each class meeting and receive feedback from an experienced public speaker. Learn to handle issues of nerves, organization, vocal variety, use of props and slides, humor, etc. At the end of six weeks, you will have the knowledge and confidence to speak to a group of any size on any topic you choose!

Fantasy Literature and Writing Class
6 weeks, Wednesdays from 10:30-12:00, beginning April 25

Do you like to travel to imaginary worlds? Do you like animals who talk? Do you enjoy a hearing good story that involves time travel or magical powers? If you ever wanted to go to wizard school but homeschool, this class might be for you. We will listen to fantasy stories and books. We will tell stories which will inspire our writing. Bring your imagination and start where you are in your evolution as a writer or writer-to-be.
